Meet Phemelo Motene

Phemelo Motene’s career in media spans decades. Phemelo cut her teeth at sabc radio as a news reader. She then took over the Saturday afternoon slot 1-3pm from Romeo Khumalo.

Phemelo Motene is largely remembered for her role as Khensani Moroka on sabc 1 popular daily soap: Generations. She became a household name; gracing covers of magazines and boasting major endorsement deals. Phemelo has since aced leading roles alongside the likes of John Kani.

After an acting heitas, Phemelo returned to the small screen recently on The Queen playing a role of Adelaide to much acclaim.

Phemelo time in radio has seen her floorish as a talk radio producer to broadcasting veterans like Jenny Cwrys Williams and Bruce Whitfield and the executive producer of the popular Friday Stand Ins.

Motene has been presenting The Weekend Breakfast on 702 for the past three years and has grown audiences remarkably.
