Meet Onkgopotse JJ Tabane

One of South Africa’s leading media and communications specialists, a community activist and a business executive.

He is currently the Executive Director and Founder of Oresego Holdings, an international advisory company as well as the Chief Executive of EnviroWorld Productions – specialising in environmental programming for community TV and radio. He is a regular columnist for The Sunday Independent, Pretoria News, Daily Dispatch as well as The Daily Maverick. Tabane is currently the host of ‘Frank Dialogue’, a weekly talk show on Ubuntu Radio, South Africa’s new online radio station owned by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation. Let’s Talk Frankly is due in 2015. Tabane is a PhD Candidate in Media Studies at Wits University. A director of Pholosang BEE Resolution Services and he 

is a trustee of the University of the Western Cape Foundation and Love Life Trust. He is a member of the Council of the University of the Western Cape and former member of the Council of the Northwest University. He is a communications experts having worked in Senior communications roles fo the WSSD, The Ministry of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, The Chamber of Mines, The South African Airways and the Congress of the People. He was the inaugural winner of the Government Communicator of the year award in 2002. He is Author of Lets Talk Frankly — Letters to influential South Africans on the State of the Nation (Pan Macmillan) and a regular columnist for The Star, Business Day and Daily Maverick.
