Meet Nonhlanhla “Noni” Khumalo

Nonhlanhla ‘Noni’ Khumalo is a South African Radio and Television Broadcaster and Producer, Corporate Events MC, Speaker and Beauty Enthusiast.

Born and bred in Mabopane in Pretoria, then later moved to the Westrand, Roodeport, Noni has been an active child whom in school she participated in many activities from sports to cultural items where she also excelled.
She comes from a family of four children and her being the second child Noni has described her home as a place of rest and warmth, her family and community make this ambitious girl feel whole.

The journey to building the name Noni Khumalo started back in 2018 when she joined campus radio station Voice of Wits FM 88.1, a radio station based at the University of the Witwatersrand. 6This is where she co-hosted the multi-award nominated breakfast show The Mainswitch alongside Mathew Malcom who is affectionately known as Matt Flax. 7Noni could not wait to share her talents on radio besides being on-air, this where she later conceptualized and introduced a new show The Global Love Experience a lifestyle show about beauty, music and love which scooped her Best Music Show award at the 2021 South African Radio Awards. 8In 2019, Noni joined 947 as a crew member and grew to become a social media content creator for Anele and The Club as well as the 947 Top 40 with Zweli. 9 She also presented 947 Early Mornings on weekends between 03H00-06H00 until she got headhunted to become a Content producer for YFM. 10 Five months into the new role, she received a call to lecture second year students at Boston Media House in Sandton. 11In October 2022, Noni flipped the script and left 947 after three amazing years to joining GP’s hottest frequency YFM as the Content Producer for the Drive time show to now being the producer for the lunchtime show The Lunch League. 12With her eagerness to learn and grow in the media space, Noni opened herself up to continue her work as a radio presenter even at YFM through standing in on different shows. 13 With her love for engaging different people about a number of topics, challenge her thoughts and lead a discussion, Noni is hosting the 2024 elections Podcast at YFM called Take It To The Booth. 14It has been almost a decade on radio on and off air doing incredible work, Noni saw it fit to tap into new territory and make another dream come true, Television! 15 She is currently the Producer for SABC News lifestyle show Trendz Live which airs every Fridays at 8pm on channel 404. 16 Noni makes appearances at-least every week showcasing the outside of office life of celebrities, attend the most glamourous events and more. 17Apart from broadcasting, Noni has been on various stages, facilitated discussions and mastered many ceremonies, these include Empowa Women Leadership Summit in 2023, AWS Startups, United Nations Development Programme, Empowa Youth Summit and most recently the Pan-African Parliament among others.
