Meet Khanyi Magubane

She has cut her teeth across the various media platforms of Radio/TV/Online and Print and has been widely recognised for her work in broadcast media. Khanyi is currently the Executive Producer of a talk show on SABC 2, Visionaries Lounge. The show profiles self-made South Africans with Noteworthy achievements. The season started in October 2015 and airs on SABC 2 at 8:30pm every Tuesdays. In 2014, Khanye was the recipient of the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative, a legacy leadership program of US President Barack Obama. She was selected as one of 500 young leaders from over 50,000 applicants from the whole of Africa. She attended the program in the United States between June-July 2014 at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where she
furthered her education in the field of business and entrepreneurship. She is also a columnist currently contributing as a revolving writing to Move Magazine’s Faith Corner section. A trained journalist by profession, she is armed with a BA (Communication) and BA (Hons) Journalism both from RAU (now University of Johannesburg). As a journalist, she started her career at Talk Radio 702 in 2000. She then moved on to YFM where she was a drive-time news Anchor. In 2006 she moved to SAfm, where she still currently is. She has produced ground breaking documentaries including the critically acclaimed series, “Why Are We So Angry?” which unpacked the social psyche of South Africans. The series’ first aired in 2012 on SABC 1 and was again repeated on SABC 2 in 2014.
