January to August 2009

Medical and Scientific Liaison for psychiatry ,with Janssen-Cilag. This was a contract position for 2009, with an option of renewal beyond. His main focus was to keep the psychiatric community informed of developments in the therapeutic areas that Janssen-Cilag is involved in; and to serve as an educational resource to the company. He elected during this time to return to school with the aim of becoming a plastic surgeon.

2007 to end 2008

Consultant to NW Dept of Health on HIV Prevention strategies. Worked to develop prevention strategies for the HIV High-transmission-area Prevention project. We grew the project from having 35 peer educators to >100 within the 18 month period. The contract ended at end 2008.

His biggest achievement during this time was the creation of an educational website that operated on cell-phones. Topics included on the website are an english dictionary, career development, and HIV education. The goal was to make information easily accesible, especially in rural areas of South Africa. This was achieved, at a very low cost to the user.
