MEET Ndumiso Kubheka

Ndumiso Kubheka is a South African Economist that has extensive experience in the areas of economic analysis, trade and investment research, public policy and corporate strategy. As an Economist that is also an Entrepreneur, he deals with the complexity of building sustainable businesses in testing macroeconomic environments across industries whilst leveraging the enablers that come with people, technology and processes to solve for those problems.

He has served in the Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) Faculty Board, the Institutional Senate at North West University (NWU) and as a visiting Faculty Member at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). Ndumiso is one of SA’s emerging business leaders as a winner of the most contested leadership show on SABC 1 One Day Leader Season 2 and has served as a Judge in the 7th and 8th season of the show. In his season as a contestant, he was judged by the current Naspers CEO Mrs Phuti Mahanyele-Dabengwa. His unique blend of academic, business, leadership and youth enable him with the ability to articulate strategic insights into turnkey value-adding solutions.

Ndumiso’s body of work includes advisory for policy makers and a plethora of company executives.

He has received recognition from the Office of the President in South Africa by two administrations, the Premier of Gauteng and the Mayor of Sedibeng District inter alia for his work and commitment to investment promotion and policy work in an effort to create the requisite enabling environment to foster inclusive growth, development and competitive markets. Ndumiso is also an Ambassador for South Africa’s nation brand, Brand SA and a co-author of a book titled Reflections on SA, the foreword has been written by the Presidency.

In 2020, he formed a part of an advisory panel of Economist’s with the responsibility to make inputs with regard to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic on the South African economy.

Kubheka holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and International Trade from North West University (NWU), a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Economics from the University of South Africa (UNISA), a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), and an Alternative Investments Diploma from Harvard Business School (HBS) in Boston, USA. He is presently a candidate in the Executive MBA programme at GIBS.

He serves as the Chief Executive at KH Research Equity Partners. Including as a Non-Executive Director at Pax Africana Advisory and on the board of several not for profit organisations. Furthermore, he serves as the Board Committee Chairperson for Finance, Audit and Risk at the Da Vinci Institute School of Business Leadership. He is a regular contributor on Kaya FM, 702 Talk Radio, Power FM and many other business related platforms and has served as a judge in the ESKOM Business Investment Competition focusing on manufacturing related businesses.
