Meet Musa Sono

Musa Sono is a South African motivational speaker, youth development advocate, and community empowerment leader whose journey from humble beginnings to impactful leadership continues to inspire many.

Raised in challenging circumstances without the privilege of a progressive family background, Musa developed a strong sense of responsibility at a young age. In order to support his education, he sold scones to traffic robots, a defining experience that shaped his resilience, work ethic, and determination to succeed.

Today, Musa uses his personal journey to inspire young people and professionals to rise above limitations, develop the right mindset, and pursue lives of purpose and impact.

He is the head of the EMUSENI FOUNDATION, an organization dedicated to community empowerment through agriculture development, food security initiatives, and skills development programmes aimed at strengthening communities and creating sustainable opportunities.

Musa is passionate about youth leadership and believes that transformation begins when young people understand their identity, their history, and their role in shaping society. A large part of his work focuses on mentoring young men and helping them build strong character, discipline, and purpose.

His message has reached audiences across different sectors, including corporate organisations, leadership forums, and youth platforms. Musa has delivered motivational sessions for organisations such as Standard Bank Group and Sanlam, encouraging new professionals to maintain a positive mindset and persevere through challenges.

He also delivered a keynote session at Tile Africa during their managers’ convention, where he spoke on “Igniting the Power of Sales,” inspiring leaders and sales teams to unlock their potential, embrace resilience, and drive performance through the right mindset and attitude.

Internationally, Musa has also spoken in Malawi at FILL MY CUP, where he addressed audiences on the importance of attitude, alignment, and understanding personal identity.
